In a significant move to foster collaboration and advance community development, the University of Northern Philippines – College of Public Administration formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Local Government Unit of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, on March 25, 2025.
The primary objective of this partnership is to strengthen institutional ties and promote sustainable development initiatives by upholding the principles of good governance and providing capacity-building training to the youth. Through this collaboration, both parties aim to enhance the competencies of future leaders and empower the local community.
The MOA signing was attended by Dr. Joselito De la Rosa, Dean of the College of Public Administration, Dr. Alma Somera (Coordinator, CPAd Extension Unit), Dr. Society Salcedo (Program Head, MPA-CBG), and Mr. Marc Adrian Tabisula (CPAd Faculty) representing the University, and Mayor Bryan Dexter Tadena, Vice Mayor Edwin Mariberth Tacbas, and Human Resource Officer Victoria Tabisula, representing LGU Santo Domingo. UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna later signed the MOA at the Office of the President.
This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to cultivating a culture of civic engagement and empowering communities through responsive governance and capacity-building initiatives. The University remains steadfast in its mission to produce socially responsible leaders while contributing meaningfully to nation-building.
