UNP, DAP Meet and Greet for Capability-Building Intervention on ISO 19011:2018 Guidelines

The University of Northern Philippines, through the Quality Management Office, teamed up with Development Academy of the Philippines to deliver 2024 Capability-Building Intervention on ISO 19011:2018 Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems. UNP representatives, with the DAP representatives conducted a meet and greet on July 18, 2024 via online.

The goal of this collaboration is to equip UNP’s internal auditors with the knowledge and skills to effectively plan, conduct, and manage audits of the University’s management systems in accordance with the ISO 19011 standard.

The meet and greet was attended by Mr. Albert R. Tejero, Vice President for Finance and Administration, Dr. Eva Marie Avila, Director, Quality Management Office, Mr. Rino Reyes, QMS Team Leader, Dr. Necy Romo, Head, Academic Standards and ISO Coordinator, Engr. Joselito Totaan, Head, Accreditation, Ms. Regina Tobia, Quality Assurance Officer III, Mr, Johnny Allagadan, Jr., Information Officer III and Member, Secretariat, Ms. Lilibeth Pizzaro, QA Officer II, Mr. Tranny Tica, and Ms. Leslie Rojas, QA Officers I. Representatives from DAP were Ms. Melani Garcia-Mercado, DAP Project Manager, and Ms. Jelriz Joi Lanip, Project Leader.

This training that will be held on August 13 – 16, 2024 at the University will help UNP strengthen its audit processes and continually improve its management systems, ultimately enhancing the university’s overall performance and credibility. By implementing the best practices outlined in ISO 19011, UNP will be able to demonstrate its commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement to its students, faculty, and stakeholders.

The capability-building program will cover all aspects of the ISO 19011 standard, including the principles of auditing, managing audit programs, and conducting effective management system audits. This will enable UNP’s internal auditors to plan and execute audits in a systematic and objective manner, leading to meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for improving the university’s management systems.

The partnership between UNP and DAP will bring together the expertise and resources of both institution to foster a collaborative approach to enhancing the University’s auditing capabilities. This initiative underscores UNP’s commitment to professional development and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and excellence in its operations.
