The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) College of Criminal Justice Education renewed its Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Ilocos Sur through Puro National High School on March 26, 2026, in Puro, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur.
Carrying the theme “Renewal of MOA cum Cultural and Gender-Based Perspectives in Bullying Prevention: Empowering Girls and Cultivating Respectful Boys,” the activity highlighted the importance of fostering safe and inclusive school environments.
Mrs. Jacqueline F. Castillo, resource speaker, emphasized empowering girls against victimization, promoting respectful behavior among boys, and strengthening gender-sensitive approaches to bullying prevention.
The renewed partnership also reinforces UNP’s commitment to community extension, with Puro National High School as a beneficiary. The University will provide medical and dental services, information drives, skills training, technology transfer, and capability-building programs in Disaster Risk Reduction, Basic Life Support, First Aid, rescue operations, health, education, technology, economics, and business management. Continuous monitoring, materials, and technical support will also be extended.
In turn, DepEd ensures policy support, coordination, and sustainability of the programs.
