UNP-DLH concludes Adopt-a-School and Community Program in Bantay and Sto. Domingo
The University of Northern Philippines through the Department of Languages and Humanities under the College of Arts and Sciences conducted the closing ceremony of the Adopt-a-Community and School Program held in Bantay and Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur on January 24, 2025 following the successful implementationof various programs.
The said event was participated by students, teachers, program volunteers, and school administrators of Capangdanan Elementary School in Bantay, and Quimmarayan Elementary School in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur.
Through the initiative of CAS – DLH faculty including Prof. Bernadeth Canoy, Prof. Occencia Rubia, and Prof. Nolito Ragunjan, DLH Extension Coordinator, the goal of the program was reiterated successfully to the participants.
Prof. Ragunjan delivered the rationale of the program, explained the importance of community-based programs, and, the role that education plays in lifting communities. He called on a continued partnership for the common good of quality life for future generations.
The program ended with the messages of Quimmarayan Barangay Captain Hon. Mario Tababa, and Hon. Marie Jane Piano of Capangdanan stressing the importance of maintaining the momentum developed during the project.
Gifts were also given to the participants.
