The UNP Danggay-Saririt Cultural Dance Troupe (DSCDT) achieved remarkable success in the Vigan Longganisa Festival Street Dancing and Showdown Competition 2025, held on January 22 at Plaza Burgos, Vigan City. This victory marks their second championship title in this competition, following their previous win in 2023. This year, the DSCDT secured first place in Category B, earning an impressive average score of 96.33%. The DSCDT’s consistent high placements over the years emphasize their commitment to excellence in cultural representation and dance exhibitions.  

Their performance was a poignant exploration of colonialism, particularly highlighting the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, while also celebrating themes of romance and devotion to St. Paul the Apostle, the Patron Saint of Vigan.

Despite having only two weeks to prepare, including crafting props and perfecting their choreography, DSCDT’s dedication and creativity shone through. The festival is a significant cultural event in Vigan, drawing participants and spectators alike to celebrate local heritage through vibrant performances and traditional festivities.
