The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) earned national distinction after being named one of the Top 8 Performing Schools during the Oathtaking Ceremonies for New Criminologists and Induction of PCAP Members held on May 1, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City—marking another milestone in the university’s pursuit of excellence in criminology education.
UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, together with the Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education Dean Dr. Sina Bestre, and Assistant Dean Prof. Myline Aleson received the Plaque of Recognition.
Elevating the prestige of the gathering, the event was attended by two of the nation’s topnotchers—Tristian Earl Yarte, who earned an impressive Top 5 ranking, and Segundo Castaneda Jr., who secured the Top 10. Their presence not only highlighted their exceptional academic achievement but also served as a powerful testament to the institution’s commitment to excellence, inspiring attendees and fellow graduates to pursue distinction in their own professional journeys.
