UNP empowers Grade 12 students with Career Guidance Program

The Office of Student Affairs and Services through the Career and Job Placement Services under Student Welfare Services Office hosted its highly anticipated Career Guidance Program: “The Future is Yours: Search, Select, Soar, Succeed,” on March 20, 2025, at the College of Technology Function Hall. This initiative aimed to equip Grade 12 students with essential tools for making informed career decisions and navigating their futures.

The event featured interactive discussions, mentorship sessions, and career planning workshops led by esteemed faculty and professionals from various fields. Students explored industry trends, decision-making strategies, and pathways in higher education, vocational training, and employment. The program aligned with UNP’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), emphasizing equal access to career exploration resources.

In his inspirational message, the university president, Dr. Erwin Cadorna, stressed the importance of self-determination in shaping one’s future. He reminded students that they are the pilot of their own lives and that they should consider their interests and skills when deciding what courses to take or what career to consider. Further, he encouraged them to embrace the possibilities ahead and empower themselves to create their own success story.

With over two hundred participants, the program successfully instilled confidence and preparedness among students as they transitioned into their chosen career paths, leaving attendees inspired to take charge of their destinies.
