The University of Northern Philippines formally concluded the three-day accreditation survey visit of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) with a virtual closing program held on August 13, 2025.
The survey visit, which ran from August 11 to 13, assessed Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and Bachelor of Science in Social Work programs of the University to ensure quality education and continuous institutional improvement.
Dr. Jaime Forbes of Bataan Peninsula State University, serving as Team Coordinator, was represented by Dr. Juliet Masangcap of the same university to deliver his impression. In his message, Forbes assured the university community of an objective and constructive evaluation.
“Rest assured we will make a very objective assessment and make recommendations for the benefit of the program, your college, and your institution. ‘Wag po kayong magsasawang magtrabaho para sa kolehiyo ninyo, for a world-class service and excellence. Accreditation is like a camera—it records what is important, captures the good times, develops the negatives, and if things don’t work out, takes another shot,” Forbes emphasized.
Dr. Carlo Nabo of Western Mindanao State University, also serving as coordinator, gave his impression and expressed appreciation for the cooperation and hospitality of the UNP community throughout the visit.
Representing UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, who was on official business, Vice President for Finance and Administration Mr. Albert Tejero delivered the administration’s message of commitment to academic excellence.
“The university is committed to continuously conduct regular review and enhancement of our curricula with the involvement of various stakeholders, both internal and external, with emphasis on the participation of industry, and under the guidance and independent evaluation of our AACCUP accreditors,” Mr. Tejero said.
The closing program marked the culmination of another milestone in UNP’s journey toward quality assurance, underscoring its dedication to achieving world-class standards in higher education.
