UNP Graduates benefit from DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Cash-for-Work Program

The University of Northern Philippines, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), conducted an orientation to the 500 UNP graduates on Cash-For-Work, a poverty alleviation program of the government with the theme, “Sukimat Pagsapulan: Pamaayan Raniag a Masakbayan” at the UNP Gymnasium on July 15, 2024.

The program aimed to assist fresh graduates, like those from UNP, by offering 90 days of work and income. This helps them transition into the workforce and support their families with the immediate opportunity. The total funding granted by DSWD for this endeavor amounts to Php 19,575,000.00.

Senator Imee Marcos has been a key supporter of the KALAHI-CIDSS CFW initiative, which has benefited graduates from state universities and colleges across the Philippines, including UNP. The program is part of DSWD’s efforts to address poverty and increase access to social services for vulnerable communities.

Ms. Reysa Pilotin, serving as the officer in charge and regional program coordinator for Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services in Region I, provided information during the orientation session.

Acknowledging this milestone in their journey Dr. Marites Duquinal Head, Career and Job Placement Office, and Dr. Chase Suyat, Head, Alumni Services, commended these graduates. They also emphasized the importance of work ethics and proper conduct as they step into their designated roles.
