UNP implements retention policies through Teaching and Nursing Aptitude Tests

The University of Northern Philippines successfully conducted the Teaching Aptitude Test and Nursing Aptitude Test for the second term of the school year 2024-2025. These assessments are integral to the implementation of retention policies, ensuring that students meet the standards required to advance in their respective academic programs.

The Teaching Aptitude Test, held on April 3, 2025, while the Nursing Aptitude Test took place on April 4, at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR) of the Science Complex. First-year students in Nursing and Education programs participated in these tests, which evaluate their readiness and competence in their chosen fields. For nursing students, the aptitude test serves as a quality assurance measure, allowing only those who meet program standards to progress to the next level. Similarly, the Teaching Aptitude Test determines the suitability of aspiring educators, reinforcing UNP’s dedication to producing skilled professionals.

The administration of these tests led by the university’s psychometricians—Ms. Anne Kleire Rafanan, Ms. Rain Alviar, and Ms. Jan Christiana Balansi—and supervised by Ms. Precious Lyn Cornejo-Babida. BS Psychology interns assisted as proctors, ensuring seamless execution of the examinations.

Through these initiatives, UNP continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence and student development, maintaining high standards in its Nursing and Education programs.
