UNP inks MOA with SES
The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) and Salomague Elementary School (SES) established a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on January 28, 2025, aimed at enhancing educational services and overall school welfare. This partnership focuses on the Teachers’ Enhancement Program, School Improvement Program, and Students’ Development initiatives. The MOA ensures teachers receive training for better teaching methods and a more enriching educational setting, while the School Improvement Program focuses on improving facilities to enhance learning effectiveness.
In addition to educational enhancements, the MOA establishes essential Health Education Programs to educate students and faculty about physical well-being, hygiene, and preventive health practices. The institutions will collaborate to create a healthier environment through health workshops, screenings, and awareness campaigns, supporting the complete welfare of all participants.
Recognizing the Philippines’ vulnerability to natural disasters, the Disaster Management component of the agreement provides students, teachers, and community members with emergency preparedness skills and response capabilities. This training equips the school and its surrounding area to manage emergencies effectively, ensuring security and resilience for continuous educational activities and community life during calamities.
The partnership introduces Livelihood and Skills Training Services, including Food Processing programs, to equip residents with practical skills for income generation. These programs aim to foster economic independence and support sustainable development in the region. The collaboration integrates vocational training programs to develop a balanced community that thrives educationally and economically.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Lloyd Mata, OIC, University Extension Office, Prof. Jevie Abella, and Prof. Randall Rabacal, Extension Coordinators, and Mr. Cleverson Pacio, OIC, alongside faculty, staff, parents, and students from Salomague Elementary School. This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening relationships between educational institutions, working together to enhance community welfare and development.
