UNP Intramurals 2024 concludes

As a part of UNP 59th Founding Anniversary, the UNP Intramurals concluded on October 18, 2024, at the UNP Gymnasium, marking a vibrant celebration of student talent and teamwork as part of the university’s 59th Founding Anniversary.

Over the course of two weeks, students from ten participating units—Dragon Hearts, Trojans, Eagles, Stingrays, Raging Wolves, Jaguars, Toros, Red Tigers, Flaming Flamingoes, and Griffins—competed in various sporting events. These included basketball, volleyball, athletics, esports, dance sports, and Laro ng Lahi, fostering healthy competition and camaraderie among participants.

Before the closing ceremony and awarding of winners, a dance sports and Zumba competition showcased students’ creativity and skills in modern and Latin dance styles. Judges selected the best male and female performers to represent UNP at the SCUAA 1 2025 competition.

The Champions on different sporting events was COE Jaguars on Sepak Takraw, Unit VI Raging Wolves on Futsal, the CBAA Eagles in Swimming Men’s Category while the CTE-LS Toros on Women’s category, Esports was dominated by the Trojans as they got the championship for Men’s and the Night Watchers on Women’s category, the CTECH Stingray whipped the other unit by getting the crown on Men’s Athletics while the Eagle soar high and catches the championship on women’s category for Athletics. On Basketball the raging Wolves shows an impressive but wild performance as they won on Women’s Basketball and the Blue Stingray whipped other units as they show their dominance in Men’s Basketball, on Chess Event the COE Jaguar roars loud as they won the championship for men’s category while the eagles on women’s category, on Baseball the CBAA won the game as the Bat for Gold.

The CBAA Eagles were crowned the overall champions of the 2024 Intramural Games with a total of 354 points, marking a historic victory as they dethroned the previous champions. The defending champions, Unit VI Raging Wolves, secured 224 points, earning them the title of 1st Runner-Up. Unit VIII Toros followed as the 2nd Runner-Up with 194 points, while Unit I Dragon Hearts and Unit X Red Tigers tied for 3rd Runner-Up with 139 points each.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Sina Bestre, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education, presented the trophy to the CBAA Eagles, expressing her congratulations on their achievement. Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered a message of gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event and encouraged participants as they prepared for their midterm exams.

As the two weeks celebration concluded, the UNP community demonstrated unity and passion through loud cheers and joyful celebrations. The performances throughout the games highlighted their spirit of camaraderie and commitment to building a stronger UNP community.
