UNP launches advanced training program to enhance faculty digital skills

In a significant move to modernize academic operations, the University of Northern Philippines initiated a comprehensive faculty training program for its upgraded Student Information and Accounting System (SIAS). The two-day training held on January 16-17, 2025, aimed to revolutionize how faculty interact with student data and administrative tasks.

The enhanced SIAS introduces streamlined functionalities for grade submission, attendance tracking, and student record management, promising to reduce the administrative burden on faculty. This technological advancement will allow educators to dedicate more time to student instruction and mentoring rather than paperwork.

A key highlight of the upgrade is its data-driven approach to student performance monitoring. Faculty will gain access to detailed student performance metrics, enabling them to identify areas needing improvement, and provide targeted support. The system also facilitates better communication between faculty, students, and administrative staff.

The training program, organized in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Registrar’s Office, and the Information & Communications Technology Office, demonstrates the University’s commitment to technological advancement in education. With a target of training all the faculty in the University, this initiative marks a significant step toward creating a more efficient, and responsive academic environment.
