UNP leads SDO Vigan City’s 2nd Leadership Forum

The Schools Division Office of Vigan City gathered principals, supervisors, and educators for its 2nd Leadership Forum, held at the Vigan City Trade Center on July 17, 2025. This initiative aimed to strengthen leadership within the school community.

Dr. Luzviminda Relon, the Director of the Instruction and Faculty Development Office, served as the Learning Resource Provider for the first session titled “The Growth Mindset: How Leaders Continuously Evolve.” Dr. Relon emphasized the importance of adopting a growth mindset as a prerequisite for effective and adaptive leadership, sharing practical insights on how educational leaders can remain open to learning and improvement throughout their careers.

The next session featured Dr. Marifel Acena, Head of the Student Welfare Services Office under the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and Program Head of the Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling under the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). Dr. Acena’s session, “Resilience and Grit: Overcoming Challenges as a Leader,” centered on encouraging perseverance and emotional strength amid professional adversity. She underscored strategies for maintaining composure and motivation, inspiring attendees to tackle leadership challenges with renewed determination.

The collaboration between SDO Vigan City and UNP proves vital in equipping local educational leaders with tools for effective school management, transformational leadership strategies, and fortifying Vigan City’s commitment to educational excellence.
