The University of Northern Philippines, through its Master’s in Guidance Counseling (MAGC) program and the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), in collaboration with Ilocos Sur Community College (ISCC), spearheaded a half-day capacity-building workshop titled “Stress Management in the Workplace: Breathe, Reflect, and Release” on November 7, 2025.
The session was spearheaded by Dr. Marifel Q. Acena, while Mrs. Glenny Angellica B. Barrientos provided expert insights as the keynote resource speaker. Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in dynamic discussions, reflective activities, and team-based exercises designed to strengthen their stress management strategies and support their overall emotional well-being. The event was smoothly facilitated with the assistance of UNP MAGC students in collaboration with ISCC Guidance personnel, ensuring an interactive and meaningful learning experience for all attendees.
With the strong support of ISCC College Administrator Dr. Roel Anicas, the event emphasized the vital importance of mindfulness, resilience, and cultivating a positive and healthy workplace culture. Participants engaged in interactive activities designed to strengthen coping strategies, foster emotional well-being, and enhance overall professional performance.
The collaborative initiative emphasized the deep commitment of both institutions to promoting employee wellness, mental health awareness, and a supportive work environment—demonstrating that workplace productivity and personal well-being go hand in hand. By prioritizing these values, the event showcased a forward-thinking approach in building resilient, motivated, and mentally healthy teams.
