The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) Men’s Volleyball Team brought pride to the University after securing the bronze medal at the ABCamp Volleyball League held on August 28–31, 2025. The four-day tournament gathered some of the region’s strongest collegiate teams, showcasing competitive play, sportsmanship, and school spirit.
UNP opened its campaign with a decisive win against Panpacific University, setting the tone for its strong showing. However, the team stumbled in its second game against Nikkiverse University, which handed them their first loss. Bouncing back with grit and determination, the Spikers defeated the Candon City squad in their third match. In their fourth outing, UNP faced powerhouse team Bini University but fell short despite a spirited effort.
With two victories under their belt, the UNP team advanced to the bronze medal match, once again meeting Candon City. The playoff turned into a nail-biting showdown, with both sides trading powerful spikes, precise sets, and resilient defense. Drawing strength from their teamwork and discipline, UNP dominated the match in straight sets, securing their podium finish.
Head Coach Mr. Leo Angelu Baja and Assistant Coach Mr. Lloyd Adrian Sison praised the athletes for their perseverance throughout the tournament, noting that the experience has further strengthened the team’s resolve and cohesion.
The achievement has energized the UNP volleyball program, fueling optimism for future competitions as the team continues to raise the University’s banner in regional sports.
