UNP, PSA meet for National ID Authentication Services implementation

The University of Northern Philippines and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Vigan Branch and Regional Office held a discussion on May 23, 2025 at the Quality Management System (QMS) office on the implementation of the National ID Authentication Services. Key stakeholders such as the Information and Communications Technology Office Director and personnel, and representatives from the Office of the Registrar and Admission Services Office were involved in the meeting.

Speakers from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Vigan Branch and Regional Office e facilitated the discussion, highlighting the National ID System as a core identification system and digital platform. The PSA underscored how the system is expected to facilitate easy service delivery, maximize administrative governance, minimize corruption, improve financial inclusion, and ensure ease of doing business in the country.

At the center of the discussion was the need to incorporate the National ID Authentication Services into the operation of the University. It was emphasized that its incorporation would greatly benefit the institution’s aims and objectives of improving administrative efficiency as well as facilitating smooth service delivery to the public.

The National ID’s verification capabilities present a promising channel for automating various university operations, ranging from student enrollment and admission confirmation to in-house administrative procedures. By harnessing the safe and centralized identification tool, the university is likely to cut down on processing times, minimize discrepancies, and enhance the integrity of its records.
