The University of Northern Philippines was recognized by the City Health Office on October 3, 2024 for its commitment in supporting working mothers. The “Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace Award” was given in light of the university’s initiative in establishing a dedicated breastfeeding room aimed at fostering the physical and mental development of infants of female employees.
The newly created breastfeeding room is located in the second floor of the UNP Hostel. The space is designed to be accessible, hygienic, and welcoming, ensuring that working mothers have a comfortable and private environment to breastfeed their infants. This endeavor emphasizes UNP’s commitment in promoting the health and well-being of all its constituents, particularly female employees who balance work and motherhood.
