UNP renews agreement with two schools

The University of Northern Philippines renewed the memorandum of agreement with Naglaoan National High School (NNHS) in Sto Domingo, Ilocos Sur and Solotsolot National High School (SNHS) in San Juan on July 15, 2025.

The MOA signing in NNHS was attended by Dr. Lloyd Mata, University Extension Office Director, and Prof. May Ruadap, Extension Coordinator, for UNP; Dr. Christian Giron, School Principal II and Mrs. Fatima Mercedes Mendoza, Head Teacher III, and teachers and students of NNHS.

As an initial step to address UNP’s obligation to conduct information drive and other advocacy programs, Dr. Eileen Rose Paculan and Ms. Illah Diva Faypon gave a “Training on mastering netiquette in the digital world” to the NNHS students. The school is an active partner of the University and included the provision in the agreement scholarship assistance to its teachers towards post graduate studies.

On the other hand, MOA signing in SNHS was attended by Dr. Fatima Rocamora, VP for Research and Extension; Dr. Remedios Navarro, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Jill Ann Paranada and Dr. Rochelle Reboroso, CAS faculty members; and   Prof. Ruadap. For SNHS, Dr. Vilma Avila, School Principal II led the teachers in the activity.

On July 1, 2025, a monitoring of extension activities was conducted by the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension. Dr. Rocamora, Prof. Ruadap, and Mr. Randal Rabacal visited Brgy. Nagsincaoan and Nagsincaoan Elementarty School in Cabugao, and Sto Tomas Elementary School in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur. The monitoring was conducted to assess the effectiveness and to collect information on the progress of the extension programs.
