The University of Northern Philippines conducted the “Productivity Enhancement for the Non-Teaching Personnel through Employee Wellness cum Team Building” program on June 25, 2026 at the UNP Gymnasium.
Spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration, in partnership with the Human Resource Management Unit and the Administrative Services Office, the activity gathered non-teaching personnel across all employment statuses for an enriching afternoon dedicated to professional growth, wellness promotion, and meaningful fellowship.
Opening the program, Vice President for Finance and Administration Mr. Albert Tejero extended a warm welcome to the participants and delivered a compelling message that highlighted the value of investing in employees’ well-being and professional advancement. He emphasized that nurturing a healthy, motivated, and continuously developing workforce is essential in achieving organizational excellence, while reaffirming the University’s dedication to promoting a culture of care, growth, and empowerment among its personnel.
A key highlight of the activity was the series of enriching discussions facilitated by guidance counselors Ms. Rowena Mamuad and Ms. Precious Emerald Castillo. Addressing the topic “When to Seek or Offer Help on Mental Health Concerns,” Ms. Mamuad stressed the importance of mental health awareness, early intervention, and peer support in the workplace.
Meanwhile, Ms. Castillo’s presentation on “Supporting Employees Through Wellness and Organizational Care” emphasized the shared responsibility of institutions in fostering employee well-being through responsive programs, supportive policies, and a culture of care. Their presentations reinforced the value of prioritizing mental health and wellness as essential components of a resilient and high-performing workforce.
Atty. Katrynn Louise Eder, CGAD Director, spoke on “Equipping Frontline Workers for Gender-Sensitive Service Delivery,” emphasizing inclusivity, respect, and responsiveness in public service.
The latter part of the program shifted to team-building activities facilitated by Dr. Marifel Acena, Head of the Guidance and Counselling Services, providing participants with opportunities to strengthen teamwork, communication, and collaboration. The activities’ results were later processed and evaluated by Ms. Glenny Angellica Barrientos.
The event culminated in the announcement of winners, capping an afternoon marked by learning, engagement, and camaraderie. Participants conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to the organizers, facilitators, and University administration for their unwavering support and active involvement, which contributed greatly to the program’s success and made the experience both meaningful and impactful.
Through this initiative, UNP reaffirmed its commitment to foster employee wellness, promote a positive work culture, and enhance the productivity and overall well-being of its non-teaching personnel.
