UNP Student Council Launches Panagsarabo 2025

The University of Northern Philippines Student Council officially launched Panagsarabo 2025 at the UNP Gymnasium, bringing together student leaders, freshmen, and members of the university community in a vibrant celebration anchored on the theme “Balligi ti Nasaririt a Mannaniw.”

In his welcome message, Student Regent and SC President Hon. Jake Axel B. Tacadena set an inspiring tone for the event, urging especially the first-year students to embrace their new journey with courage and conviction. “Let your college years be more than just a phase. Fill them with purpose and passion. Be that mannaniw — a storyteller of triumphs who leaves behind a legacy that inspires others,” he shared.

Supporting this call for purpose-driven student leadership were key messages from top university officials. Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, SUC President IV, emphasized the importance of cultivating responsible and visionary leaders within the university. He reaffirmed the administration’s strong support for all student-led initiatives that promote excellence, integrity, and inclusivity. Meanwhile, Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, reminded students that academic growth and leadership go hand in hand, and that both must be nurtured to truly fulfill the mission of the university.

One of the event’s highlights was the presentation of the newly elected Local and University Student Council Officers, signaling a renewed commitment to represent and serve the student body. Their oath of service served as a pledge to lead with integrity, transparency, and dedication.

Capping off the event was the much-anticipated College Parody Competition, where student creativity and humor took center stage. Colleges battled it out in lively performances that showcased witty skits, cultural satire, and playful campus narratives. After a close competition judged on creativity, parody relevance, production, content, and delivery, CARCH-CFAD was hailed as Champion, CTE-COE as 2nd Place, and CCJE as 3rd Place.

The program was steered smoothly with the help of Student Council Adviser and SDSO Head Mr. Randolfo R. Lopez, MAEd, along with the presence of SC Vice President Rachelle Ann Imperial, Secretary Charles Angel P. Seatriz, and other university-wide officers. The energy, talent, and sense of community that filled the gymnasium truly made Panagsarabo 2025 a fitting start to what promises to be a meaningful academic year.
