UNP, UTAR explore architectural collaboration
The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) have embarked on a collaborative journey to explore potential architectural partnerships through 2025. The virtual meeting held on March 11, facilitated discussions on joint ventures between the two institutions.
This collaboration served as a platform to identify shared academic interests and discuss faculty expertise. Key areas of potential collaboration discussed include joint virtual workshops and seminars focusing on sustainable design and cultural heritage preservation, faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and the sharing of resources and expertise.
The meeting saw participation from key figures from both universities, including Dr. Tan Kok Hong, and Dr. Abd Muluk Bin Abd Manan, both from the Department of Architecture & Sustainable Design at UTAR, together with Dr. Sally Jarin, Director of International Affairs & External Linkages Office, Dr. Fatima Nicetas Alonzo, Dean of the College of Architecture, and various program heads and faculty from the said college.
This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening international collaboration in architectural education and research, promising exciting opportunities for both UNP and UTAR.
