UNP BioSoc leads World Earth Day celeb
The UNP Biology Society led the World Earth Day Celebration by organizing Community Outreach Services on Ecosystem Conservation and Rehabilitation through their Environmental Sustainability Programs at Bantay West Integrated School in Bantay, Ilocos Sur on April 19, 2024.
Prior to the celebration of World Earth Day, the UNP-Biology Society (BIOSOC), in collaboration with Ilocos Sur Environmental Enthusiast and JCI-Vigan Chapter, conducted a series of outreach activities.
It is entitled “Environmental Talk: BioSoc at the forefront of Mother Earth Conservation and Preservation, Story Telling of the Adventures of ISEEyah, Reimagining Green Spaces – The Vertical Garden Bottle Project: A Journey to a Sustainable Future, and EcoTouriSEEm.”
These programs aim to educate and inspire students about the importance of environmental conservation, promote environmental stewardship by empowering the young ones to take proactive steps towards sustainability within their communities and beyond.
This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely: 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 13 (Climate Action), 15 (Life on Land), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
