The University Extension Office (UEO) recently conducted a Training-Workshop on Packaging of Extension Documents at the UNP Guestel and Hostel Function Hall on June 6-7, 2024.

The workshop, titled “Empowering Communication: Enhancing Impact through Effective Packaging of Extension Documents,” aimed to equip participants with the skills to effectively package and communicate extension documents.

The training focused on the importance of proper packaging in enhancing the impact of extension documents. Faculty members from the different academic units served as participants during the training and learned about the various aspects of packaging, including design, content, and distribution. They also explored strategies for creating engaging and informative packaging that effectively communicates the message and purpose of the document.

The activity started with the welcome remarks of Dr. Fatima F. Rocamora, Vice President for Research and Extension, who emphasized the importance of the event in enhancing the capability of faculty members at the University. She stressed that effective packaging of extension documents is crucial for fostering development and improving practices across various sectors and significantly contributes to the overall performance of the university.

Dr. Lloyd Mata, Director of UEO, presented the rationale for the workshop, he highlighted that proper packaging is crucial for ensuring that the intended audience receives the information in a clear and concise manner. The workshop aimed to equip participants with the skills to design and package extension documents that effectively communicate its message and purpose.

Following the rationale, Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, UNP President, delivered his message, accentuating the significance of effective packaging of documents in enhancing the impact of extension documents. He mentioned that proper packaging is essential for ensuring that the intended audience receives the information in a clear and concise manner.

Dr. Cadorna then put emphasis on the commitment of the University in promoting a collaborative and inclusive culture, which is vital for the success of extension programs. He concluded by expressing the need for unity and a knowledge-driven culture in the pursuit of excellence.

The workshop included hands-on sessions and presentations by Ms. Rizza Cajindos and Ms. Emerita Galiste. They served as resource speakers during the training, providing participants with practical knowledge and skills to apply in their work. The training was designed for extension professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders involved in the development and dissemination of extension documents.

By the end of the workshop, participants were equipped to design and package extension documents that effectively communicate information and enhance their impact. This training is expected to contribute significantly to the improvement of extension document packaging and ultimately, the dissemination of valuable information to target audiences.
