CBAA enhances org skills at Baluarte Zoo Foundation through extension service

The College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) successfully conducted a two-day extension service at the Baluarte Zoo Foundation on September 18 and 19, 2024.

The program, titled “Organizational Effectiveness: Training on Building Strong Connections using Advanced Strategies for Interpersonal Success,” aimed to strengthen the organizational skills of the foundation’s team leaders and officers.

The first day of the program began with a seminar led by Dr. Glenn Paul Briones, who focused on the pivotal roles of employees within an organization. The interactive session encouraged participants to reflect on their responsibilities, followed by engaging team-building activities designed to foster collaboration and trust among team members.

Dr. Princess Neptalia Quebral, program head of Human Resource Development Management and the project’s coordinator, then highlighted the importance of nurturing interpersonal relationships in the workplace.

Her presentation emphasized the impact of positive connections on organizational success. Prof. Gerard F. Malcaba reinforced this message by discussing the core values of respect, love, and trust (RLT) within teams, underscoring their significance in maintaining a healthy work environment.

Mr. Emman Trevor A. Quilala moderated the first day’s sessions, with core faculty members Mr. Ryan Fogata and Mr. Paul Richard Martin serving as witnesses. Also present were Dr. Eileen Rose Q. Paculan, the CBAA extension coordinator, and Mr. Ignacio Thadeo, head of the Baluarte Zoo Foundation.

The second day shifted focus to conflict management, with insightful discussions led by Mr. Jhonnino A. Serdenia and Mr. Marvin Keith Sosa. They presented practical strategies for managing disputes within organizations and the importance of proactive communication and conflict resolution skills.

Mr. John Wilbert P. Madriaga moderated the second-day seminar, while Mr. Romeo R. Arce and Mr. John Paul Robert T. Marzan were among the witnesses who observed the proceedings.

The extension service concluded with positive feedback from the participants and heartfelt gratitude expressed by the foundation’s management. The program equipped the Baluarte Zoo Foundation’s team with valuable skills and strengthened the collaborative ties between the CBAA and the zoo.
