UNP Signs Memorandum of Understanding with QIS, India to Advance Internationalization

The University of Northern Philippines has taken a significant step toward strengthening its global presence with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with QIS Educational Institutions, Andhra Pradesh, India on September 9, 2025, held at The B Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The partnership aims to promote cooperation in education and research with key areas along academic exchange program, co-organizing conferences and seminars, faculty exchange program and visiting professor program, student exchange program, joint research and publication among others.

Collaboration includes the following areas: Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Mechatronics, Teacher Education and Material Science.

During the ceremonial signing, Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, UNP President, underscored his commitment to foster cross-border partnerships in education though the MOU.

In his message, President Cadorna emphasized the importance of the partnership as UNP strengthens its global presence. “This collaboration further solidifies UNP’s internationalization efforts and enhance our presence in India. May this be the start of a fruitful and sustainable collaboration between UNP and QIS.”

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. N. S. Kalyan Chakravanthy, founder and executive Chairman of QIS Educational Institute, India stressed that the MOU is not just for documentary purposes. “I want to sustain the MOU. Every 2 years, I will visit the Philippines to renew the MOU,” he said.

More than just another partnership, this MOU reflects Dr. Cadorna’s commitment to position UNP as a leading university in international collaboration. Under his leadership, UNP continues to expand opportunities for students and faculty, opening doors to world-class learning, research, and innovation.

This marks not only a milestone in UNP’s internationalization efforts but also a promise of lasting impact for generations of UNPians.
