BS Biology students gear up for practicum with intensive orientation on professionalism and work ethics

The BS Biology Program of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) conducted a Pre-Practicum Orientation cum Seminar on Professionalism and Proper Work Etiquette on April 21, 2026, at the UNP Auditorium.

The activity gathered third-year students of BS Biology majoring in Medical Biology together with Biology faculty members led by program head Dr. Charo Rojas. The activity was held in preparation for their upcoming practicum deployment. Highlighting the program was the talk of resource speaker Mr. Mico Molina, a faculty member of the Bachelor of Science in Psychology, who provided practical insights to help students navigate the demands of their practicum experience.

Dr. Rojas in her welcome remarks emphasized the practicum as a crucial stage in the students’ academic journey, urging them to demonstrate discipline, responsibility, and professionalism as they transition into real-world environments. She highlighted that the experience is not merely a requirement but an opportunity to apply classroom learning in actual workplace settings. Meanwhile, Mr. Molina emphasized the importance of professionalism, ethical conduct, and proper workplace etiquette, guiding students on their roles, responsibilities, and expectations as interns.

The activity forms part of the university’s continuing efforts to prepare students for industry demands while strengthening their professional and ethical foundations. It also reflects UNP’s commitment to deliver quality education and produce competent, socially responsible graduates equipped to contribute to national and global development.
