CCIT student emerged as champion in the Digital Illustration Contest

Carl Darren Sales, BS InfoTech 3 student of CCIT emerged as champion in the Digital Illustration College Category during the 1st Animation Festival 2025, held at Lorma Colleges, La Union, on February 6-7, 2025.

Guided by his coach, Mr. Ade John Gestole, CCIT Faculty, Sales showcased his exceptional talent in digital artistry, besting participants from various institutions. His winning entry captivated the judges with its creativity, technical execution, and storytelling, reinforcing UNP’s commitment to excellence in digital arts and innovation.

The 1st Animation Festival, hosted by Lorma Colleges – College of Computer Studies and Engineering, in collaboration with Busan Kyungsang College, South Korea, brought together animation enthusiasts, professionals, and students to celebrate animation as a medium for cultural exchange and innovation. The event featured competitions in 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Digital Illustration, and Digital Storyboarding, alongside workshops conducted by animators from Busan Kyungsang College.

Along with Sales were, Jhay-Ahr Tindoc, (BS Computer Science 2A), Russel John Fabie, (BS Computer Science 2A), and Justin Angelo Pamplona, (BS Information Technology 2A), from the CCIT, participated in the festival, engaging in various activities and immersing themselves in the world of animation and digital arts.

This win solidifies UNP-CCIT’s standing as a hub for technological and creative excellence, inspiring more students to pursue careers in animation, digital arts, and information technology.
