COE honors newly licensed engineers through a testimonial luncheon and year-end thanksgiving celebration

The University of Northern Philippines College of Engineering held a testimonial luncheon to honor its graduates who passed the November 2024 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination, October 2024 Geodetic Engineer Licensure Examination, and August 2024 Sanitary Engineer Licensure Examination. The event was held last December 19, 2024, in front of the College of Engineering Building. The event coincided with the college’s annual Thanksgiving Celebration.

The celebration began with a motorcade around Metro Vigan, with students, faculty members, and the newly licensed engineers participating. Afterward, a thanksgiving mass was held at the university chapel, bringing together the College of Engineering family’s gratitude and reflection.

Newly licensed Sanitary, Geodetic, and Civil Engineers shared their inspiring experiences. Each passer reflected on the challenges of their licensure examination preparation, highlighting the importance of discipline and dedication. They also provided insights into the licensure examination topics such as applied mathematics, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, and principles of structural analysis and design.

Dr. Nelia Verzosa, dean of the college, expressed immense pride not only on the achievements of the passers but also on the achievements of the college this year. “This success is a shared triumph. It reflects not only the dedication of graduates but also the unwavering support of their parents, alumni, and faculty,” she added.

The celebration was also attended by the University President, Dr. Erwin Cadorna with his message to the passers and the whole College of Engineering family. “I am proud of the achievements of your college. To the newly licensed engineers, give back to your college by inspiring future generations, sharing your knowledge, and carrying the name of UNP College of Engineering with pride and honor wherever you go.”

Also present at the event were Engr. Nestor Pajaro, the College of Engineering Alumni Association President, and Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs. The celebration featured the Year-End Thanksgiving Celebration of the college, where students gathered for a salo-salo.

This celebration of academic success emphasized the spirit of gratitude and excellence that defines the UNP College of Engineering. With the newly licensed engineers ready to embark on their succeeding journeys, the college continues to uphold its tradition of excellence.
