Dr. Cadorna signs MOU with UNESCO
UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna signed a memorandum of understanding with four other higher education institutions in the Philippines in the UNESCO’s Frontier Exploration and Research Network Initiative on March 1, 2024 held via zoom.
The MOU signing is the first batch of HEIs which includes Northwestern University headed by Atty. Ferdinand Nicolas, Biliran Province State University under the administration of Dr. Victor Canezo Jr., Mindanao State University Tawi Tawi Campus under the stewardship of Chancellor Mary Joyce Quinto–Sali, Urdaneta University through its president Atty. Amihan April Alcazar, and the University of Northern Philippines.
The first batch of members were gathered by the UNESCO Chair on Anticipatory Governance and Regenerative Cities from Northwestern University, Prof. Shermon Cruz.
Dr. Cadorna, in his message, considers the understanding as a transformative avenue for students, teachers, and leaders, and will strengthen research that will continue to unravel the mysteries of the unknown as a springboard in developing technologies for brighter and prosperous future.
“The MOU will give an opportunity to member HEIs for collaboration that could create a future every HEI associate desires,” said Prof. Cruz. This will allow members to be involved in future studies and research, learn competencies in design, planning, human resources, and knowledge on the emerging trends and practices.
