JBA leads pact, seminar on gender in Pantay Fatima
Aiming to cultivate community collaboration, the Junior Bankers’ Association (JBA) of College of Business Administration and Accountancy recently hosted a signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Brgy. Pantay Fatima, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
The event is titled “Bridging Partnership, Building Awareness: Memorandum of Agreement Signing cum Gender and Development Principles,” symbolizing a shared commitment between the local leaders of the barangay and the student organization to advance community development projects.
Held in the spirit of unity and progress, the event brought together barangay officials led by Barangay Captain Mario R. Camello; CBAA faculty members Jonah Via C. Pecho, Joedethe A. Rabara, and Katherine Alon-Rabbon (JBA adviser).
Furthermore, a Gender and Development (GAD) seminar was conducted in collaboration with the Center for Gender and Development. It emphasized the importance of gender equality and empowerment as a cornerstone of sustainable development.
Dr. Mae Oliva M. Paino discussed key topics, including understanding the concepts of gender roles and stereotypes, recognizing gender-based disparities, and promoting inclusive leadership. Interactive discussions explored the significance of integrating gender sensitivity to address inequalities and enhance social equity.
These initiatives reflect the Junior Bankers’ Association’s dedication to creating a progressive, gender-responsive, and united community, proving that collaboration and education are key drivers of meaningful change.
