Guidance and Counseling Services facilitates career navigation for grade school learners
The Guidance and Counseling services of the Laboratory Schools (LS), under the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), spearheaded the Career Navigation and Guidance Celebration for the pupils of the Laboratory Schools at the UNP gymnasium on March 22, 2024.
With the theme “A Step Closer to My Dream,” LS students empowered students to pursue their dreams and passions for career orientation, focusing primarily on childminding and elementary students, who showcased their desired professions by dressing up in their job uniforms.
Dr. Clarita P. Pere, assistant principal for preschool and grade school, highlighted in her opening remarks that if young learners believe in the beauty of dreams, all their dreams will come true if they have the courage to pursue them.
”A dream doesn’t come to reality through magic alone. Young teenagers just have to, like magic, be patient. We have to be hardworking,” she stated.
At the event, each grade level presented a runway show, with advisers of each section and grade level selecting a representative to compete for the title “Best in Career Suit.”
Ten candidates from each grade, from kindergarten to grade 6, competed for the title. The best in career suit was divided into three categories: childminding and kindergarten, grades 1-3, and grades 4-6. Winners were chosen in each category based on their runway presentation and responses during the question-and-answer portion, allowing judges to evaluate their performance.
The winners were announced as follows: Zea Paquirigan for the first category, Janella Czianne Pantalleon for the second category, and Kiefer Rabina for the third category.
In promoting career-oriented initiatives and fostering the growth of the next generation of professionals through programs like this, the University prioritizes student growth, encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
