Project Dormitour launched to combat dengue
On November 28, 2024, the Medical Services Office, in collaboration with the Future Physicians Circle from the UNP College of Medicine, successfully launched, “Project Dormitour,” a health initiative aimed at promoting wellness among students living in the Ladies and Men’s dorms.
The event focused on the dissemination of information about vector-borne diseases, particularly dengue fever, which remains a significant health concern. Team members engaged with students through direct interactions, providing bottles of insect repellent to help protect against mosquito bites, distributing multivitamins to enhance immune function, and handing out informative brochures detailing symptoms, prevention strategies, and treatment options for dengue and other vector-borne diseases.
Project Dormitour was a resounding success, with to the extensive collaboration and support from the Future Physicians Circle and dormitory management, and it has sparked interest in future health education initiatives to further ensure the well-being of our student community.
