The recertification audit of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) Quality Management System (QMS) concluded successfully, with auditors from SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. recommending recertification for ISO 9001:2015. This audit took place from December 4 to December 6, 2024, and was led by Ms. Grace Reyes, accompanied by support auditors, Mr. John Joseph Denoga and Ms. Maria Fatima Mercurio.
The rigorous three-day process involved participation from various academic and administrative units, who welcomed the auditors to evaluate their implementation of quality management processes. During the closing program, Ms. Reyes presented the audit findings, highlighting that UNP received numerous commendable remarks and achieved zero non-conformities.
Dr. Erwin Cadorna, the President of UNP, expressed his gratitude and emphasized that this recertification should act as a catalyst for further improvements in the University’s systems and processes.
“Let this recertification serve as a springboard for further improvements in our University’s systems and processes. Our commitment to quality education remains unwavering, as we continue to serve as catalysts for positive change in our community,” he stated.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Albert Tejero underscored the significance of collaboration and thanked all individuals who contributed to this achievement. The certification encompasses a broad range of services provided by UNP, including instruction, research, extension services, production, support operations, and administration.
This successful recertification underscores UNP’s dedication to maintaining high standards of quality management within its operations and reflects its ongoing commitment to excellence in education and service delivery.
