The university’s commitment and dedication to standards and processes, together with the university’s best practices, continuously help in the pursuit of quality and excellence.

The Annual Planning and Budgeting Conference of the University of Northern Philippines was held on 10-12 July 2022 at the Plaza Tropical Resort Hotel, Currimao, Ilocos Norte. 

With the theme, “Delivering ‘Implementation Ready’ Programs, Projects, and Activities Towards Quality Services”, the conference was initiated by the university to ensure that financial resources and Annual Plan of Action are harmonized and aligned to the SDGs, Developmental Goals, and the university’s VMGO. The activity was facilitated by the University Planning and Information Management Office and the University Budget Office.

The deans of the 17 academic units, and 22 directors and heads of the different administrative offices presented their priority programs, projects, and activities for FY 2023-2024 to the Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC).  The PBC was composed of Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, Dr. Fatima F. Rocamora, Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Mr. Albert Tejero, Mr. Rino Reyes, Engr. Johnny P. Belizar, and Atty. Jonalyn R. Almachar.

            The activity was also an avenue to collate and report the Physical and Financial Performance Targets of Accomplishments of the University and its Infrastructure Projects and other Priority Programs and Projects. Further, it also aimed in ensuring that specificity and timeliness on the procurement of goods and services are met.

            Awards were also given to best programs and presenters. Best Programs Presented for Administrative Offices were given to the UNP Hospital (Diabetes Care Center) and University Research and Development Office (Project InAbEL- Innovative Abel Designs: Revitalizing the Local Weaving Industry of Ilocos Sur, Phase I). For Academic Units, College of Business Administration and Accountancy (Yes Young Entrepreneurs Station- The CBAA Business Hub Program), and College of Technology (IRAP- Industry Recognized Academic Program) were awarded Best Programs.

            Dr. Edelyn A. Cadorna and Dr. Ma. Teresa Susan L. Manzano were also hailed as Best Presenters.

            The two-day activity is an annual initiative to ensure that the university provides programs, projects, and activities that meet the expectations of students and internal and external partners.

            The conference was facilitated by the University Planning & Information Management Office headed by Prof. Ma. Theresa F. Pescador and the University Budget Office headed by Dr. Larraine U. Aguimatang.
