CAS Celebrates 9th Biology Week

The CAS – Biology Society (BioSoc) successfully launched its 9th Biology Week on January 20, 2025, in front of the New College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Building. This year’s celebration theme is “Uniting the Kingdom of Life to Rule the Realm of Science,” The event aimed to inspire biology students by promoting creativity, innovation, and critical thinking through a series of engaging activities.

The event started with an opening program participated by faculty and students of BS Biology. Dr. Charo Rojas, BS Biology Program Head, delivered her opening remarks and Dr. Grace Garcia, CAS Assistant Dean for Academic Programs, gave her message. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony that inaugurated various booth exhibits created by seven designated groups, showcasing their creative talents.

Academic contests like poster making and essay writing were held, along with a Bio Quiz Bowl and extemporaneous speaking competition in the afternoon. The Biology Week was held for three days, offering numerous fun and educational activities designed to enhance student participation and skill development.
