CGAD orients Sta. Catalina health personnel on RA 9710
As part of the 2025 National Women’s Month UNP calendar of activities, the Center for Gender and Development, through Dr. Mae OIiva Piano, organized an extension activity at RHU Sta. Catalina. The activity is part of the memorandum of agreement entered into with the health center.
Atty. Aryan Ceasar J. Manglapus served as resource speaker and elaborated the Magna Carta of Women. He emphasized the importance of the said law to health workers and highlighted that the law is for the advantage of women because since time immemorial, discrimination against women was already felt. The law provides benefits and protection to women particularly in the workplace, in which the audience are greatly benefitted from.
One of the prominent offers of the law is the reasonable advantage to pregnant women and to those who are being disadvantaged in the society. They are now given ample time for their maternity. Such law is a hope for every woman in the society because they are now recognized and protected. The said activity was participated by the nurses and midwives headed by Dr. Mary Christine Villar. The participants were interactive and responsive to the topics presented to them.
