Cabugao schools, communities sign MOA with UNP
The University of Northern Philippines entered a pact with Barangay Turod, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur and Cabugao National High School; Barangay Bungro, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur and Bungro-Margaay Elementary School on November 28, 2023.
Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, UNP President, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Mr. Agapito Edgardo S. Garcia (punong barangay of Turod) and Mrs. Rebecca R. Viloria (principal of Cabugao NHS); Mr. Reydante S. Sarinas (punong barangay of Bungro) and Mr. John Cesar S. Azcueta (head teacher- Bungro-Margaay ES).
Acknowledging the significance of collaborating to establish a favorable educational setting and furnish learners with advantageous assets and prospects, the event represents a dedication to incorporating sustainable development principles into the foundation of community development and education at Cabugao National High School, Bungro-Margaay Elementary School and the surrounding communities, thereby supporting the worldwide endeavor to realize the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
The University seeks to deliver to the communities include medical and dental services; information drive and other advocacy programs; skills training, technology transfer and livelihood projects; lectures in coaching and officiating sport games; training on disaster risk reduction and management, basic life support, basic first aid and rescue operations; health, technological, educational, economic, and business management training programs or seminars; capability building activities for barangay employees, teachers, and students; provide technical assistance in relation to the above activities; and conduct of research activities which include research dissemination.
The MOA also seeks to support the schools’ instruction by creating educational resources, carrying out action research, and utilizing ICT. The College of Teacher Education (CTE) will assist the schools in carrying out the Inclusive, Rejuvenating, Responsible, Integrative, Agricultural Arts and Technology Education (IRRIGATE) method to support the schools in carrying out the Gulayan sa Paaralan Project and other relevant activities.
