As one of the partner institutions of San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, UNP provided technical services on tabulation through a developed system during the Ms. San Vicente 2024 pageant as part of the town’s Muebles Festival on April 30, 2024.

In particular, the offices involved were the College of Communication and Information Technology, Information Technology Infrastructure Management and Development Office, and the University Extension Office.

Fourteen candidates competed for the title, Ms. San Vicente 2024, showcasing the beauty and authenticity of the people of the municipality.

On the said event, the UNP-CCIT tabulation team assisted the event’s organizers, especially the automation of the tabulation procedures to speed up computing scores from the board of judges using the tabulation system developed by the faculty from CCIT.

The tabulation team consisted of Dr. Richard C. Arruejo, Mr. Ferino Gem Madriaga, Mr. Gian Paolo Cabanas, Ms. Maribel Tacla, Mr. Harold Costales, Mr. Rogelio Rabena, Mr. Mariano Romano, Dr. Arpee C. Arruejo and Dr. May Evelia Ruadap.

The College has been providing tabulation services for competitions in pageantry, battle of the bands, and other cultural and arts activities in Ilocos Sur for years.

The event was a success, and the results were accurate and fast because of the automated tabulation system, teamwork, and collaboration of the team and pageant organizers.

Muebles Festival is an annual celebration of cultural identity and ingenuity for the people of San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, celebrated every April of the year.

The office’s assistance in the event is aligned to the attainment of SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
