UNP faculty partake in CPD orientation program

To equip the faculty on the necessary skills and provide opportunities for their professional growth, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) in cooperation with the Office of the Director for Instruction and Faculty Development spearheaded the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Orientation Program on April 30 at the Tadena Hall.

In light of its commitment to professional growth and development, the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) aspires to become a recognized Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accredited provider by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

This means that, once approved by the PRC, UNP will hold training programs and seminars where different licensed professionals can earn CPD units as prerequisite in renewing their licenses.

The University is committed to upholding its responsibility to consistently offer avenues for the intellectual and career advancement of its faculty members, in accordance with the provisions set forth in Republic Act No. 10912, more commonly referred to as the Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016.

During the orientation program, a comprehensive discussion was held with the participation of faculty members and non-teaching personnel.

The speakers delved into various significant topics, shedding light on the “CPD Law and its Significance in HEI’s,” “Overview of the CPD Accreditation System,” “Documentary Requirements’ It’s Whats and Hows”, and addressing pertinent issues and frequently asked questions. With these subject matters, the attendees were equipped with a thorough understanding of the subject matter.

The orientation program was also conducted to further capacitate the faculty on the importance of earning CPD units including their compliance and preparing with the requirements for the continuous practice of their profession as well as the renewal of their licenses.
