The Cagayan State University benchmarked on internationalization practices, resource mobilization, and alumni relation strategies at the University of Northern Philippines on October 11, 2024.

The visiting CSU officials were Dr. Ana Marie Cristina Cauilan (Vice President for Internationalization Partnership and Resource Mobilization), Prof. Kristine Joyce Lara (Director for Internationalization), and Dr. Recto Aguirre (Director for Alumni Relations and Placement Services).

Their visit coincided with the University’s celebration of International Students’ Day which the delegates from CSU were invited to witness. Dr. Sally Jarin (OIC, International Affairs and External Linkages Office) and Dr. Edelyn Cadorna (Assistant Director, IAELO) shared to them tips on enhancing international collaboration.

Mr. Marvin Keith Sosa (Head, Economic Enterprise Development Services & Alumni) discussed plans for creating student hubs, fostering entrepreneurship among students, and engaging with external partners.

Additionally, Dr. Marites Duquinal (Head of Career and Job Placement Services) shared insights on best practices in resource mobilization, career coaching, and job placement.

Mr. Nelson Benzon (Head, Student Publication), Dr. Eva Marie Avila (Director, QA and former Director of International Affairs), Engr. Joselito Totaan, and staff of the Quality Management Office were also present.

This benchmarking exercise reflects CSU’s commitment in improving its educational practices by learning from established institutions like UNP, which has been recognized for its efforts in integrating sustainability goals into its operations. The collaboration is expected to yield beneficial strategies that will enhance CSU’s global engagement and resource management capabilities.
