BS Psych faculty extend expertise on mental health in Candon
The Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension, in collaboration with the BS Psychology program, conducted a psychosocial support activity through a mental health talk for the learners and parents of Dr. Ricardo Gacula Memorial National High School (DRGMNHS) in Candon City on August 6, 2024.
This event was a part of Brigada Eskwela 2024 and aimed at enriching knowledge and raising awareness about mental health. It provided valuable insights into the importance of mental health and strategies for promoting mental well-being.
The BS Psychology faculty members, namely: Mr. Mico M. Molina (program head), Ms. Kristina Camille V. Pacris-Quitevis, Ms. Alexandria Blake C. Real-Pisalbo, and Ms. Precious Lyn C. Babida addressed key topics, from understanding the importance of mental health awareness in school and mental health continuum, recognizing mental health struggles to building resilience and implementing positive strategies.
Participants engaged in discussions and activities designed to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and foster a supportive community environment.
The implementation of this activity signifies the University’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of the community through an accessible mental health support.
