Panangpasangbay held for new OU students
The Open University (OU), in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) through the Guidance Counselling Services and Information and Orientation Services (GCS & IOS), conducted the Panangpasangbay 2024, a general orientation program for new students on March 22, 2024, 9:00 am via Zoom Meeting.
This activity aimed to formally welcome the new students in the University; acquaint them with the essential information; facilitate their adjustment in another phase of their educational endeavor; and initiate their integration into UNP’s academic, cultural, and social climate.
Dr. Wilson R. Tolio, Assistant Dean of OU, welcomed the new students. Ms. Laura Azurin, Head of the Registrar’s Office discussed the general academic policies and procedures. Dr. Dolores R. Bersamina, OIC of the Office of the Dean, talked about college academic policies and procedures, presented the OU faculty and staff, and gave her inspirational message.
There was also an audiovisual presentation about Student Services, Data Privacy Act, and Student Council projects.
The Head of GCS & IOS, Dr. Marifel Acena, concluded the program with her final remarks. She highlighted that the activity is a milestone for OSAS-GCS & IOS and the Open University. for it is the start of a good partnership and collaboration between the two service units of the University towards the growth and holistic development of our students in OU.
The guidance counselor of the academic unit, Ms. Kathlene Mae de Castro, was also introduced.
