UNP-CTE partners with local schools for inclusive development
Dr. Erwin Cadorna, the President of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP), along with Dr. Ma Teresa Susan Manzano, Dean of the College of Teacher Education (CTE), formalized a collaborative agreement on October 30, 2024.
This Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed at the UNP Tadena Hall with Puro Elementary School, Manzate National High School, and Namalpalan Elementary School, designating these institutions as recipient communities. The partnership also includes Vista Mare Resort and Vista Sul Resort as industry collaborators. Representatives from LGU Magsingal as well as teachers from the different recipient schools were also present.
The agreement affiliated the university and its partner schools together for partnership in academics, technology, vocational, health, economics, and research.
The target services that the university will provide include medical and dental services, information drive and other advocacy programs, skills training, technology transfer, and livelihood project, lectures in coaching and sports games, training on disaster risk reduction and management, basic life, first aid, and rescue operations, training programs and seminars, and capability building activities for teachers, students, and other personnel.
This collaboration aims to foster a culture of enhancing instructional methodologies and extensive research and to capacitate students and faculty members.
