The University of Northern Philippines-Danggay Saririt Cultural Dance Troupe (UNP-DSCDT), proudly representing the Heritage City of Vigan, has been hailed as champion in the 2025 Ilocos Sur Festival Street Dancing and Showdown Competition. This prestigious event took place on February 9 at the Quirino Stadium, after successfully portraying the beauty of the Ilocano culture and heritage.

Moreover, the team also won the “Best in Musicality” and “Star of Street dancing” award with their utilization of live music by the UNP KYS Drum Beaters, accompanied by their graceful dancers.

Their winning performance centered around “Milagrosa,” an Ilocana woman embodying the loving and caring nature characteristic of Ilocanos. This portrayal not only showcased their artistic prowess but also underscored their dedication to preserving and promoting Ilocano cultural heritage.

This victory is a testament to UNP-DSCDT’s commitment to celebrating local traditions while inspiring future generations through dance.
