UNP stamps understanding with ISPPO
Witnessed by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Director Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer, the University of Northern Philippines and Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office entered a Memorandum of Understanding through the Open University on February 21, 2024.
The signing of the MOU by Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President, and PCol Darnell Dulnuan, Provincial Director, Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office was held at the UNP Guestel.
The MOU involves the University in the provision of information drive and other advocacy programs, conduct of skills training; technology transfer and livelihood projects; training on disaster risk reduction and management; basic life support, basic first aid, and rescue operations; conduct of health, technological, educational, economic and business management training programs and seminars; and capability building activities.
The ISPPO, on the other hand, commits in the promotion and use of the various knowledge, attitude, and skills learned from the programs.
The signing was also witnessed by Dr. Fatima Rocamora, VP for Research and Extension; Dr. Rolando Navarro, VP for Academic Affairs; Mr. Albert Tejero, VP for Finance and Administration; Dr. Dolores Bersamina, OIC Dean, Open University; Dr. Loyd Mata, OIC Director, University Extension Office; and PLTCOL Reynaldo Mendoza Jr., Chief, Provincial Police Strategy Management Unit. Also present were Dr. Tolio, Assistant Dean of the OU, and faculty members.
Following the MOU signing was a lecture on investigative report writing and presentation where Mr. Johnny Allagadan Jr., Information Officer, served as the speaker. The lecture was attended by police officers representing the different municipal and city police offices in the province of Ilocos Sur.
