Three graduate programs of the UNP College of Teacher Education are up for Level IV, Phase 2, Second Cycle accreditation survey visit on October 18-20, 2023.

The said endeavor is in line with UNP’s development goal of continuous quality assurance, as stressed by Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna in his statement of commitment during the opening program, held via Zoom.

The programs examined are the Master of Arts in Education (major in Educational Management) (MAEd), Master of Arts in Teaching (majors in English, Filipino, and Physical Education) (MAT), and Master of Arts in Technology and Livelihood Education (major in Industrial Arts) (MATLE).

Dr. Niño B. Corpuz, coordinator of the team of accreditors, describes purpose and procedures of the survey visit.

Moreover, the said programs will be scrutinized in terms of their performance along teaching and learning, research, community service, international linkages, and well-developed planning process.

Such will be done through the presentation of the programs’ narrative profile and report of compliance to the comments and suggestions during the previous accreditation survey visit.

Dr. Ma. Teresa Susan L. Manzano, dean of the College, leads the working committees across the five areas in the three programs.

In the opening program, Dr. Eva Marie C. Avila introduced the accreditors, led by Dr. Niño B. Corpuz (Tarlac State University).

Dr. Avila stressed that the accreditation visit is for the programs to move forward and “rise above their limitations.”

Assigned to the MAEd program are Dr. Marinel P. Dayawon and Dr. Roselle M. Beltran, both from Isabela State University. The accreditors of the MAT program are Dr. Lourdes S. Santos of the Bataan Peninsula State University and Prof. Mary Joy A. Castillo of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Lastly, for the MATLE program, the accreditors are Dr. Edilberto Z. Andal (Laguna State Polytechnic University) and Dr. Ronie G. Torres (Isabela State University).
