CAS leads tie up, research sharing with a Vigan high school

As part of its 58th Founding Anniversary, the College of Arts and Sciences spearheaded a Memorandum of Agreement signing and research sharing with a one-week celebration of its 58th Founding Anniversary at the Vigan National High School East on March 5, 2024.

The theme of this year’s celebration focused on the vibrant culture of Ilocandia which is “Balligi ti Naindaklan a Puli: Championing the Ilocano Culture Through Arts and Sciences.”

One of the activities conducted is the research dissemination which will be held in the adopted school. This activity is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and 5 (Gender Equality).

It aimed to disseminate research findings highlighting the gaps, challenges, and areas for improvement in good governance, community development, and women empowerment; increase awareness among teachers and students about the importance of good governance, community development, and women empowerment issues; and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, best practices, strategies, and lessons learned among researchers and community members that will ultimately contribute to positive social, economic, and political transformation.

A total of five researches were presented to the Vigan National High School faculty members and students.

Moreover, UNP renewed its partnership with the said school. Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna and Mrs. Anita Presto (principal) signed the agreement.
