UNP Quality Workplace Team embraces culture of continuous learning, adaptability

Creating a positive work environment that supports the objectives of the Quality Management System (QMS) helps employees manage stress, anxiety, and burnout, leading to improved physical and emotional wellbeing and better work-life balance.

The UNP Quality Assurance Office, headed by Dr. Eva Marie C. Avila, organized the Orientation and Reorientation of the UNP Quality Workplace Team on May 9, 2024 to assess the needs for necessary adjustments and preventive measures for a conducive and comfortable workplace.

“Through this orientation, the team will be reoriented with the necessary tools and strategies to drive quality assurance practices and maintain high standards in the workplace, ensuring operational excellence and positive outcomes for the organization,” she said.

Mr. Rino C. Reyes, Director of Financial Services and QMS Team Leader, presented to the team the duties and responsibilities of the QWT. These encompass workplace health and safety, quality awareness and training, workplace organization and cleanliness, ergonomics and comfort, quality culture promotion, and continuous improvement initiatives.

He emphasized that the Quality Workplace Team is responsible for establishing a culture of clear communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and coordination of care within the organization.

“This team must model effective communication strategies, such as being clear, using short explanations, active listening, and accurate documentation,” Mr. Reyes mentioned.

Collaboration among team members from different disciplines is crucial to achieve positive patient outcomes, requiring an understanding of each member’s priorities, time commitments, and expected outcomes.

This activity focused on promoting a positive work environment, enhancing productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Quality Workplace Team aims to implement preventive maintenance systems, including regular training, feedback mechanisms, and performance evaluations, which will help drive continuous improvement.
