CCIT faculty enhance research advising, review skills through training-workshop
The UNP College of Communication and Information Technology (CCIT), in collaboration with the University Research and Development Office (URDO), conducted a Training-Workshop on Research Advising and Review at the University Guestel on May 28-29, 2024.
The event was attended by the CCIT faculty, alongside the graduating students who are currently working on their theses and capstone projects.
The two-day training-workshop aims to enhance the writing skills of CCIT faculty members and fourth-year students. The workshop is designed to improve the skills of faculty members who serve as research advisers, chairs, and panel members for undergraduate research.
The program kicked off with the message from Prof. Rosanne S. Agup, dean of CCIT, wherein she conveyed a meaningful talk about skills, experience, and attitude.
The training-workshop focused on providing expertise and guidance on research writing, enhancing the faculty members’ ability to effectively guide and evaluate research projects of their students. The workshop covered essential aspects of academic writing, including text structure, knowledge application, summarization, and coherent writing, as well as time management, research, and argument development.
Prof. Rosanne S. Agup (dean), Prof. Maribel T. Tacla (assistant dean), Dr. Leilani Basa (program head, BS in Library and Information System), and Prof. Randolf M. Agup (coordinator, Statistical Services) served as resource speakers of the said training.
